The Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC)Task Force is a federal anti-crime initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. It is a collaboration of city, county, state and federal law enforcement authorities across Ohio whose mission is to identify, arrest and prosecute individuals who: (1) use the Internet to lure minors into illicit sexual relationships; or (2) use the Internet to produce, distribute or solicit child pornography. You can visit their website at
Members of the Ohio ICAC task force provide free Internet safety presentations to parents and children and regularly participate in community outreach events. With new electronic devices, social networking sites, online games, and mobile apps being introduced on a seemingly daily basis, children, more than ever, are vulnerable to being victimized by online predators who have unrestricted access to them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Members of the task force seek to educate parents and children on the potential dangers associated with online activity.
An assembly by Ohio ICAC is scheduled at Albion Middle School for Wednesday, October 21. We are excited to bring this very important topic to the attention of our students and to educate them regarding the dangers of social media. Ohio ICAC present their programs free of charge. You can access the Ohio ICAC website at: Ohio ICAC
