Orchestra Trip to Washington DC
The kids are all 'a-buzz' about our trip. Not only did we have a great time touring the sites of Arlington, the National monuments, the many Smithsonian museums and seeing 'Into the Woods' at Ford's Theatre; but they performed well enough at the festival to earn a GOLD rating, which means each of the three judges gave us a Superior Rating. Additionally, we tied for Best Orchestra Overall and received an invitation to their GOLD Performance program hosted at some of the most prestigious concert halls across the country (this is typically something you have to apply for and send in a series of recordings/videos of the ensemble). Congratulations to all students involved, way to represent the SHARKS!
CCPS iFilm Festival
GCH brought home the GOLD at the iFILM Festival last night winning Best Environmental Digital Story with Bee-tastrophe by Alessandra Bonavita & Daniela Garcia, Discovery Education Choice Digital Story with Seeing Red by Kenya Sitepu, Best Digital Story Poster for Seeing Red by Yeroline Salazar and Most Creative Use Of Imagery for Bee-tastrpphe by Javier Leon. Clearly, our students are incredibly talented and have cool perspectives.
