I can't believe it is almost MAY 2023! As the end of the year wraps up, I want to express my heartful gratitude for sharing your family with Diamond Canyon School. It has been a joy watching them grow and learn this year. I am in awe at what happens in our classrooms daily!

May 8th - 12th is teacher appreciation week. I am so thankful for our PTA for sharing out information for celebrating the best staff there is. I challenge our community to FILL STAFF email boxes with appreciation. The power of words is truly impacting.

Please know on behalf of our staff, we love and appreciate our community in big ways. Thank you for your partnership and engagement this year. Last week as our first graders had their dino museum, our library was full and it warmed my heart to see how many parents come onto campus to celebrate their children. It was also wonderful seeing so many kindergarten parents that helped make National Kindergarten Day with an outdoor learning time at the park a memorable and fun experience for all.

Our PTA board has been amazing this year. Thank you for the MANY hours of VOLUNTEERING and making our events extra special. YOU ARE APPRECIATED! We would like to thank the following board members; Becky Goodwillie- Vice President, Yvette Stumpf- Secretary, and Mirta Chavin- Treasurer for their dedication and commitment to collaboration with the entire DC community. An extra special thank you to Holly Byerly who has been our PTA President the past two years and has been incredible leading our board and PTA members.

Our incredible eighth graders will move on next year. Oh the the memories that have been made through the years and lasting friendships!!! Our 8th graders have a different schedule at the end of the year. May 16th we will host an end of year Hawaiian party for all promoting students 6pm-8pm at Diamond Canyon. On May 17th, 8th grade students will release at 12:05. Promotion will be at Boulder Creek High School May 17th at 5:30pm. After promotion, they will be Freshmen and will not attend DC on May 18th or 19th.

PTA would like to thank everyone that contributed to the monthly staff luncheons! This would not be a success without every one that donated all of the yummy food. The staff really looks forward to these days every month and we are so happy to be able to provide this to them. Stay tuned for themes for next year!

PTA is looking for 2-4 individuals that would love to join the Teacher Appreciation volunteers. These individuals would be available during the day one day a month to assist the staff, set up, clean up, and set up the Sign Up Genius for donations. This is a great and fun opportunity to help out.

PTA is also having our last General Meeting of the year to go over next year's budget and to vote in new officers on Monday, May 15th at 9am in the Media Center. All current PTA members are welcome.

Welcome to Diamond Canyon kindergarten! We are looking forward to a year full of learning and fun with your child. As an A++ School of Excellence, we are dedicated to providing the finest learning environment for your kindergartner. We want to ensure that your child’s first year in elementary school is one that sets the foundation of good learning habits throughout their educational lives.

Before school begins, we would like to assess your child on basic reading and math skills so that we can better prepare for his/her educational needs. It also gives us a chance to meet your child and get to know their personality a little better. The data from the assessment is used to plan educational strategies, make the class lists, and will be shared with you at a later date.
