Six NEW PD Opportunities Using 21things4teachers!
Learn about TECH in EDU!
Move beyond 21things4teachers with six professional development opportunities to focus your technology integration with your instruction. This year, the Macomb ISD and Genesee ISD are partnering for a unique and awesome NEW professional development program!
Choose to participate in a one-hour webinar only, or complete one or more 10 hour modules (up to six) to put theory into practice in your own classroom and be able to earn up to 66 hours of SCECH credit! Modules for participation will include:
Module 1: Assessment for Teaching and Learning
Module 2: Enhancing Instruction for all Learners Using Technology
Module 3: Extending Your Classroom To The Cloud
Module 4: Personalized Learning in the Classroom
Module 5: Searching Safely and Strategically
Module 6: Transforming Education-Maker Movement
- Pick and choose a pathway (module) to succeed in integrating technology into your teaching with new "things."
- Each module opens with a webinar using Adobe Connect
- Regular scheduled and "optional" opportunities to meet with an instructor in an "open-lab" setting at the Macomb ISD or Genesee ISD when working on pathways (modules)
- Your choose to start in November and end in April at your own pace or a scheduled pace that fits your needs during the school year.
- Choose the "Passport Series" to learn the new "things" you want to learn or learn more about during the course.
- Cost : Webinars are FREE, and cost to earn certificates and badges for each pathway only $25 (a one-time fee covers the cost for one or more modules)

- November 1, 2016: Module 1
- November 15, 2016: Module 2
- December 7, 2016: Module 3
- January 11, 2017: Module 4
- February 7, 2017: Module 5
- March 21, 2017: Module 6
You choose to start in November and April at your own pace or a scheduled pace that fits your needs during the school year.
For those choosing to complete modules after webinars, all course work will be due on or before April 30, 2017.

Frequently Asked Questions about the NEW 21Things4Teachers
Is it necessary to take the "21Things" before registering for this course?
- No. Anyone is welcome to participate in the webinars and to sign up for the modules,. A level of comfort/familiarity with using technology in the classroom is a bonus and will aid in completing the assignments. Participants are welcome to come to the "TECH in EDU" lab sessions that will be scheduled for help when needed.
How will participants actually participate in the course and turn in assignments?
- The NEW TECH in EDU will be an online course delivered to participants using a learning management system(LMS). This course will use Schoology where all module lessons and assignments will be posted. Participants will be able to upload assignments, artifacts, receive feedback and credit while moving through the course.
- The great news about TECH in EDU is educators can pick and choose what they want to learn more about , tweak, or use in their classrooms. Participants can earn as few or as many credits as they want creating a "Passport Series" of things to learn.
Is it required to complete the course in one semester, or one quarter of a school year?
- Educators can register for a self-paced rate and take most of the entire school year to finish as much or as many or as few of the modules as they choose to learn about in the series. New modules with opening webinars will open approximately every 3 weeks starting in November with the last webinar opening in March with the course completing in April.
Are participants required to attend virtual and face-to-face sessions to earn credit?
- No. Attending face-to-face sessions is optional and way for participants to receive "hands-on" help as well as the opportunity to learn and share with colleagues.
- Yes. All educators who participate in the NEW TECH in EDU will receive signed passports validating they have met requirements for completion of any of the as many pathways (modules) as well as receive a certificate of completion from the instructor/coach who has been facilitating the course. As modules are completed, participants will also have the option to receive custom badges that can also be posted on an educator's social media site or blog.
- WEBINARS ARE FREE. The cost to participate and complete modules in TECH in EDU will be $25.00
