Benninghoven Family Newsletter
Week of Jan. 24th
Vision: A place where everyone pursues their greatness.
I can't believe this is happening....but your weekly Family Newsletter may be making into your inbox before the end of the school week!
It has been another busy, cold, and amazing week at Benninghoven. Students returned on Tuesday with a lot of energy after the long weekend, and were ready to learn. We had a staff morning arrival crew that braved the cold each day and welcomed every student. I continue to be surrounded by the BEST CREW!
Next week we kick off Kindness Week! The timing for this positivity is wonderful and we are so excited to share the events with our students and community. Please read the information included below and pay special attention to the graphics! We will have a SPIRIT WEEK, as well as many special activities.
I also want to take a moment to mention the district communication that was sent to you all last week regarding the possibility of remote learning. Our school team has been working through the development of a plan should this occur, as well as taking a few moments in class to walk students through the process (getting onto the device with Webex, entering log in information, Canvas page access). With all of that said, I want to let you know that our current process for devices at the building level will remain the same. PK-2nd grade will continue to keep their i-pads at school, and we will only send these home if necessary. 3rd-6th grade will continue to bring i-pads home as has been the process as school year. Please reach out to your child's teacher or myself directly if you have questions!
Have a wonderful weekend. Stay warm!
All the best,
Anna Jensen, Principal

Covid Info. and Vaccine Updates (Repeat)
As we prepare for second semester and the likelihood of increased COVID cases after winter break, we are asking parents of students who have received the vaccine to provide documentation of their student’s COVID vaccine to the school nurse. While COVID vaccine documentation is not required, it helps the school nurses in two ways:
1. Students who are asymptomatic, with documentation of being fully vaccinated, are not excluded from school if exposed to a positive case.
2. Nurses can better estimate the number of fully vaccinated students in a building which is useful information when there are outbreaks.
Again, while COVID vaccine documentation is not required, it would be helpful to the school nurses.
