State Testing Dates for Sonoran Foothills Bobcats
Please mark your calendars now and do your best to refrain from scheduling appointments that would require students to be absent, leave early, or arrive late between April 6th-14th.
*We will provide more details as we get closer to April, but we know those dentist and doctors appointments get booked months in advance and wanted to get you these dates ASAP.
We appreciate your partnership with attendance during our assigned testing session! #bobcatstrong

All Things EQ Message (from the founder Danna Evans):
Our motto next week is:
I find purpose in everything I do.
Connecting to our purpose (the why we do the things we do) makes everything better. Purpose moves chores from obligations to meaningful activities. Students who do homework because they want to learn new things perform better and enjoy it more than students who view homework as a waste of time.
Finding our why is important. A helpful activity you can do with your child is to share what part of the day you find most challenging and then ask them what part of the day they dislike. Ask your child why they dislike that activity and then share your reasons for why you dislike what you picked.
Explain to your child that maybe if you both change the motto you have about these activities i.e.) Homework takes away my free time. Or Making dinner messes up the kitchen to something that connects you both to the purpose of the activity it will help you both enjoy this time of the day more.
There is often a good reason we do the things we do and connecting to that reason helps us find more value in those activities. It is easy to lose sight of the purpose of our chores and activities. When we do, everything begins to feel like an obligation rather than a contribution because we focus only on the work and not on the purpose of the work.
"Activity without purpose is the drain of your life." -Tony Robbins
Helping our children find the purpose for their activities and chores helps them understand the value of their efforts, encourages them to care more deeply about the quality of their work, and helps them to know that their effort is a contribution to themselves or others.
Purpose is powerful!
