Getting Out of Our Comfort Zones
Mrs. Neal Is Reading...
JoLeigh As Super Elsa on Halloween
Why should you read Lovely, Dark, and Deep?
It is a moving story of a teenage girl who, on the brink of graduating from high school and heading into her "real life," is in a tragic car accident that kills her boyfriend. The story begins just as she has moved away from her New York home with her mom to her artist dad's home in the woods of Rhode Island. The novel is touching and sad and raw and hopeful, a story for anyone who has experienced grief and loss.

Student Spotlight: Becky and #linkwithLiNK
My English II learners had the option to attend a Google Hangout with Sarah Palmer, the rescue team manager from the global organization Liberty in North Korea (LiNK) this six weeks to further our understanding of the premise of power and persuasion in Animal Farm. It was a wonderful experience!
Special shout-out to senior AP Lit student Becky C. (pictured left) who is the president of LiNK CHS and acted as our discussion moderator!
Check out my blog post and read the tweets of the event here.
Rockstar Writers
A timed essay is definitely tough, but our learners rose to the challenge. Below are the learners who received top scores one or both of the essays written over Frankenstein this six weeks. Rock on, writers! (Some learners opted not to be pictured.)
