If you haven't already done so, please complete the FEBRUARY WAIVER DAY SURVEY. We will share out results at leadership and plan for our next PD day on March 11. We will engage with some of the same activities with our classified staff on late arrival next week.
Winter 2 Spirit Assembly:
On Friday we have our Winter 2 Spirit Assembly! At 12:43 students will be dismissed to their ADVISORY CLASS. Corpuz will dismiss by grade level, please remember to stay together as an advisory class and sit or stand with your students for supervision purposes.
Positivity Posters:
The positivity posters will be on the walls in the staff lounge, take some time to read them, and feel free to add to them! We all need to hear the good stuff, it really does recharge the batteries and remind us of why we do the hard work of education!!!
20-21 Master Schedule Planning:
Believe it or not, we're already starting the master schedule planning for next year. All departments will have an opportunity to give some input and take a look before any finializing, but if you have something you want us to keep in mind, something you want us to not do or something you want us to make sure we do, please enter those comments HERE 20-21 MASTER SCHEDULE COMMENTS FOR PLANNING.

News Around Bethel School District
As you know, this is a dark and dangerous time of the year for driving, with increased risks for our students as they travel to and from school. We are only halfway through the school year and we have already had 10 school bus accidents involving cars hitting buses. Fortunately, no students have been hurt so far. Almost all of these crashes were caused by cars running into the back of a bus (and the other was from the side!). In comparison, for all of last year, there were 9 accidents and only 4 the year before that. This upward trend is very concerning. In addition, this year we've had three students hit by cars on their way to school, while walking or riding a bicycle. Driving requires our full attention at all times. Our 21,000 students going to school each day, often in areas without sidewalks and street lights, deserve everyone's full attention to safety.
Esports:
The idea of competitive video gaming might seem a bit odd, but Esports has become one of the fastest growing – and most lucrative -- sports in the country. Now Spanaway Lake High School and the Pierce County Skills Center have introduced afterschool Esports clubs that will compete with other schools in the region. And it’s not all just fun and games. More than 170 colleges in the United States now offer Esports programs that have given out more than $16 million in scholarships and financial aid. https://www.facebook.com/BethelSD/videos/707271389677625/
