A Message from the Principal
Dear Cherokee Families,
This week I got to meet our future incoming kindergarten families. It was an opportunity to share information about our wonderful school community and all that Cherokee has to offer. From the wonderful staff, families, and students to the rigorous teaching and learning, and let’s not forget the supportive APT and Spirit of 67. I am so fortunate to be here at Cherokee! I can’t say thank you enough to all of you for your support and collaboration.
I hope you have a great weekend!
~Dr. Cavanaugh
A couple of highlights for special attention:
Valentine’s Day Parties on Tuesday
It is imperative that allergens are NOT brought into classrooms of students who have known food allergies! Please note that allergens are not limited to peanuts or tree nuts, there are many other food allergies. Please check with the teacher if you are unsure of the allergens in your child’s class. If there is anything attached to the Valentine’s card it needs to be free of any allergens in your classroom.
Reminder of Long Weekend Ahead
No School on February 17th- Institute Day
No School February 20th- Presidents Day

APT News and Events
Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to the Staff Cookie Walk on Wednesday! The staff loved it! Thank you to our amazing Staff Appreciation Events team - Lacy Fidler, Cara Ruzila, Nora Froelich and Caroline Luenz - for all of their time and dedication in planning and organizing this special event.
Glow Party Volunteer Sign-up
We still need a few more parent volunteers for our 3rd/4th Glow Party on Friday, February 24th. Thank you for helping us make this a memorable night for our cheetahs!
Book Fair Volunteer Sign-up
Krina Lessard is organizing the Scholastic Book Fair at Cherokee on Thursday, March 9th and Friday, March 10th. It is such a wonderful annual event! We need parent volunteers to help make the Book Fair a success. Volunteers will work the registers for book purchases and help families as needed at the event. The Book Fair takes place in the Multi-Purpose room at Cherokee during conferences. With this being run when the kids are out of school, you are definitely able to bring your kids with you to volunteer. My kids have always loved coming with me - and they end up racking up a hefty bill as well!
UPCOMING EVENTS:
