The Letter Project
Lealah Greene, a sophomore at Genesee Valley Central School and resident of Angelica, was awarded second place in a video contest sponsored by the Rural Schools Association (RSA) and NYSIR (NY Schools Insurance Reciprocal).
Greene’s video, entitled “The Letter Project,” documented her effort of sending hand-written letters to encourage and thank individuals within her community who have positively impacted her life.
Last Days of School!
Elementary (PreK-6)
- Monday June 21 - full day
- Tuesday June 22 - 1:00 dismissal
- Wednesday June 23 - 1:00 dismissal
High School (7-12)
- Tuesday June 15 - last full day in person
- Wednesday June 16 - remote day to hand in late work if necessary (transportation to and from BOCES will be provided)
Fall 2021 Sports Sign-Ups
Belfast Basketball Camp
🏀 This half-day camp will be held at Belfast Central School and is open to GVCS students entering grades 3-9 this fall.
🏀 $20/individual or $50/family (maximum)
🏀 The registration deadline for GVCS families has been extended to June 17.
🏀 Price includes a t-shirt, special awards, personal evaluations, and lunch each day.

Comprehensive Planning
The Village of Belmont and Town of Amity are in the process of creating a joint comprehensive plan.
Comprehensive planning is used to determine a community’s goals and aspirations when it comes to community development.
As part of that process, the committee is asking residents in both communities to complete the comprehensive plan survey.

Fun in the Jungle Summer Camp
Students entering K-6 grades next year are invited to this summer's FUN IN THE JUNGLE Summer Camp at GVCS! Registrations are due by June 23.

Seniors of the Week
Christian Tuttle
Christian Tuttle plans to enter the workforce at Lewis Tree Company after graduation. While a student, Christian has served on senior stand and has played soccer, basketball, and baseball. He also served as manager for those sports.
Trevor Abbey
Trevor Abbey is planning to attend Alfred State College to earn an associate degree in welding. As a student at the Career & Technical Education Center in Belmont, Trevor was named to the National Technical Honor Society. At GV he has been involved in trap club, volleyball, and basketball. He has worked at Cartwright’s Maple tree Inn, Zeb Beardsley Construction, Rewalt Builders, and East Wind Landscape Nursery.
