Ski Club
This year The Homecroft Ski / Snowboard Club will be skiing on Wednesday nights beginning January 15, 22, and 29th. Any students in grades 3-5 that are interested in signing up may join. Students will be bused to Spirit Mountain right after school from Homecroft, get rentals, lessons, lift tickets and be brought back to Homecroft. The cost will be $65. It will be limited to the first 50 kids that sign up, first come first serve. Ski club registration forms will be sent home in early December.
If you have questions you can contact Mrs. Krizaj.
Dressing for the Weather
We find that students are often missing boots and snowpants. These items are not readily on hand for students to borrow. Please make sure to send your child each day with all needed items (boots, hats, mittens, jackets, snowpants, and scarves).

Boundary Study
Thank you for your participation in the boundary study focus groups! Your efforts were crucial to the success of this process. During the next phase we will hold public meetings and create an online survey for feedback in January. Additional information on the process can be found on our website at https://www.isd709.org/district/isd-709-boundary-project.
Thank you again for your efforts,

Reading Corps Tutors Needed
Homcroft Elementary is looking for reading tutors for the upcoming school year. In Minnesota, 1 in 3 third graders struggles to read at grade level. You can make a difference by giving your time and talent to help students become successful readers and learners.
Tutors work one-on-one or in small groups with students during school hours throughout the school year. No matter if you’re a recent grad, career changer, stay-at-home parent or retiree, you can make a great tutor. No experience? No problem. Tutors receive great training, so they are well equipped to help students grow.
Perks as a Tutor
· Build your skills, network, and resume
· Receive a stipend every two weeks
· Earn up to $4,200 for college tuition or student loans. (Tutors 55 and older may gift the award to their child, grandchild, stepchild or foster child.)
· Free health insurance and childcare assistance for those who qualify

AM Traffic
Traffic is not allowed in the bus alley in the AM from 7:15 - 8:00 AM and 2:00 - 2:30 in the PM. This is for student safety and busing requirements.
Please be mindful of this during our AM and PM arrival/dismissal.
Please see the November newsletter for further information.
