How the Victorian Era Compares to Modern Day

Many households in the Victorian Era had at least a maid of all work, but bigger homes had a much larger staff. In contrast for Americans in modern day it is unusual for somebody to have a person that lives in the household and cooks and cleans for all the family members. Theater was also very popular as it is today, but in the Victorian Era it was more like the circus plays and music recitals.
