If your student will be absent from school, please call in the absence by 9:30 AM to the Attendance Secretary at 816-986-2577. The attendance voicemail line is available 24/7.

Featured Club of the Week
Book of the Month - December
Our new book of the month will be, Across The Desert. Students interested in reading the Book of the Month should stop by the library to sign up and check out a copy.
All who participate will be invited to the Discussion with Donuts (including a gluten free option) with Mrs. Brown, the school librarian, and any other staff who participate.
Discussion with Donuts will be held Wednesday, December 13th during TRAIL Time.
RECOGNITIONS & CELEBRATIONS
8th Grade ETMS Band
The 8th Grade ETMS Bison Band Played a concert with the Golden Tiger Marching Band on October 30th at LSHS. The Bison Band played 2 songs alone, then got to watch the high school marching band show. Then we ended the concert with both bands playing together on Land of 1,000 Dances!
All-District Band Announcement
Congratulations to the ETMS Band students that auditioned on November 4th, at Liberty High School to be a part of the KC Metro All-District Band. Seven students earned a position in the Band.
Congratulations to Lauren McBain, Vivian Blalock, Ariyah LaDuron, Sammy Barrier, Mason Longwell and Paxton Welch (not pictured). Tyler Trader was named the Drumset player for the KC All-District Jazz Band. Congratulations to these students earning this high honor.
They will be performing with the KC Metro All-District Band and KC Metro All-District Jazz Band in the next few weeks.
6th Grade Science
Mrs. Brown and Mr. Cunningham led the 6th Grade Green Science students through the Virtual Google experience looking inside a cell with 3-D images.
ETMS Robotics
Robotics enjoyed a pizza party to celebrate getting ready for their first robotics tournament on November 11th.
Red Ribbon Week Doors
So many amazing doors! Seeing the level of participation and creativity by the students and stafff was wonderful! Congratulations to Mrs. Mickelberry's homeroom class on being the winner!

Kindness Counts Food Drive
In honor of this month’s character trait we will be hosting a schoolwide service drive to give back to Lee’s Summit Social Services. Items may be brought to school from October 30th to November 21st and placed in the donation bins around the school. Thank you!
2024 Middle School Swim & Dive League
The 2024 Middle School Swim and Dive League is for students interested in swimming or wanting to explore the sport of diving. The LSR7 Middle School Swim & Dive League was created for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students as a part of the District's K-12 Development of Programs initiative to vertically align our middles school to high school programs.

BackSnack Program
East Trails is gathering information to determine the need for a BackSnack Program. This is not a meal replacement program but a supplemental snack program for those who need it. Items would be sent home with students on the last day of each week. These would be grab and go items to support you through the weekend. Please complete the form if you are interested. We would hope to have this program running by the second semester.

STUDENT SUPPORT
Student Support is a top priority. LSR7 provides school-based services, such as counseling, conflict resolution, and crisis support through partnerships with Burrell Comprehensive Mental Heath, The Center for Conflict Resolution, and ReDiscover. These partnerships provide support for students and families during the school day.

MATH HOMEWORK HELP
6th, 7th, & 8th Grade students, do you need Math Homework Help? You are welcome to stay after school any Thursday until 4:15PM. Meet in Library Collab Lab.
ATHLETIC EVENTS - ETMS
Students must go home via their normal means of transportation after school and may return with a parent/guardian to attend an event.
Student spectators may not attend ETMS athletic events without an adult.Bison Fan Days are the exception.
