September 11, 2015

Fabulous Fall Family Fair is coming!

What's that? Not sure what a Fabulous Fall Family Fair is all about? Here's the scoop:

On Monday evening, September 21st, you'll want to BE at school! We'll have TWO great events running simultaneously at Belmont from 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Faboulous Event #1: Calling all things scientific! Join us for a night of scientific discovery at the annual Health and Science Fair. Monday, September 21 from 6-7:30. There will be demonstrations and health information from local companies and individuals. Students and parents are welcome to share their scientific experiments, inventions, hobbies, or products with us. We will also be hosting the popular egg drop challenge. Build your own contraption at home and include a raw egg. Mrs. Hargrove will drop the “eggcellent” contraptions from the roof at 6:30 and 7:00. If you would like to reserve display space or have any questions please email Suann Foster at

Fabulous Event #2: The Scholastic Book Fair will be open all week, beginning on Monday evening. It will be a Monster Book Fair and families can get in the spirit of the event with a Monster Scavenger Hunt during the Fabulous Fall Family Fair! No worries folks, there are NO scary monsters, just cuteness and fun for all! The book fair will be in the library.

Our goal is 100% participation.

Conference confirmation notes will be coming home with your child on Tuesday, September 15th. Questions about conference times may be directed to Shelly McCann at or by calling the office at 913-667-1810.

apex donations are piling up!

Thank you so much for sending in your apex pledge collections. So far, we've collected about 65% of the pledged funds so we're right on track to reach our 100% collection goal over the next couple of weeks. Thank you for sending in your donations and for remembering to collect from family and friends. Your support is greatly appreciated. The PTO goal is to be able to fund all PTO activities and grant teacher wish lists. We're excited about all of the great classroom possibilities!
