I visited each campus during staff development and again during these first instructional days. In all my visits, I am hearing many positive comments about the way in which we began the school year. You liked Convocation and the LEAD Conference; you also appreciated the extra time to work in your classrooms and offices this year. Many of you have commented on feeling very prepared for students.

When visiting the campuses, there is a calm/orderly climate but one still filled with excitement about this new year. I feel very confident about the work the campuses on embarking on and in your ability to provide an environment in which our students will be successful and make academic progress.

Below is a comparison of our past several years' FIRST DAY enrollment as well as the LAST DAY enrollment for 22-23 and FIRST DAY enrollment for 23-24. I also included our enrollment as of Friday, August 25th.

Central office staff donated school supplies for students at Finley-Oates and I.W. Evans.

Megan Harris (LHR Art Teacher) received a donation of art supplies and money to purchase art supplies from the Ladies Professional Networking Group. This donation was a result of the groups August service project.

The LHR and BHS Cross Country teams hit the trail early on Saturday morning at Pecan Grove Park in Sherman.

BISD will once again participate in the Spirit of Giving event to be held on November 18th. Our blankets were very popular last year, so we will be giving away blankets again this year.

If you see blankets start to hit the shelves, please pick up one to donate. You can keep it for a little longer or send them over to the Admin building and we can store them until November.

Any and all styles and sizes of blankets are welcome since each participant gets to choose the blanket they receive for free.
