Nurse Cindy
Hi, my new TES family! I am your school nurse, Cindy Zumbo, BSN, RN, CSN (aka "Nurse Cindy"). I am thrilled to be here, and have been really enjoying my first month at TES getting to know all the wonderful children, their families, and staff.đ I have been an RN for 30 years, and a school nurse for 10. My primary role is to keep your child healthy, safe, and ready to learn. I will be developing the TES nurse website to include lots of helpful links and information for you, but in the meantime, here are a few important points:
Please remember to keep your child home when sick! Yes, we realize that not every cough and sniffle is COVID, but in order to try to get back to some kind of normalcy--while realizing that there is no immediate way to know definitively why a child is sick--we need to use common sense and courtesy, to avoid spreading illness. We are all trying the best we can to do the right thing (and keep the majority of kids healthy while in school) as the pandemic winds down.
For the latest information on COVID requirements in NJ schools, please see the NJDOH website:
NJ DOH Covid-19 Recommendations for Schools
If your child requires medication in school (over the counter or prescription) we must have the following forms filled out before I can legally administer them. Medications must be properly labeled with your child's information and in their original container.
TES Authorization for Administration of Medication Form
- If your child has a chronic health concern, such as food allergies, asthma, seizure disorder, or diabetes, we will need your doctor to fill out and sign an emergency treatment plan specific to your child. Here are a couple links to these commonly used forms:

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. The nurse's office can get very busyâand I may not be able to get back to you right awayâbut I will always answer you back! I look forward to getting to know you and your children in the coming year.
Be safe, be well, and Happy Tuesday!

Mrs. Smith, School Counselor, Anti-Bullying Specialist
Our Character Ed Program, âTuckerton Elementary School Takes A Standâ (TESTAS) celebrated students who showed Kindness in the month of September. Starting in October, we will be celebrating students who show Respect, in various ways.
The âWeek of Respectâ is upon us, please refer to the letter shared on Parent Square as we celebrate different ways to show respect through colors of the week. I hope many students will show their support for a great cause.
Please familiarize yourself with the resources we have on our website in regards to HIB. There is a link for parents created by the state of NJ to help you navigate the Anti- Bullying Bill of Rights.
