Opening Thoughts...

Thank you for another great week! I am continually amazed by the mindset of our staff as we work to influence, guide, and nurture all of our 1280 students. Each day brings many challenges and opportunities for us to be the difference makers in our students lives - such a great honor and I know without a doubt that as a whole - we are!

Staff Spotlight

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

My family is here so I will stay in Texas, but otherwise I would prefer some place cooler. Like Napa Valley.

What is your biggest fear?

It’s more of a prayer for me: That the world my grandchildren grow up in becomes safer rather than more dangerous.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life. What would it be?

Scallops, lobster and fresh vegetables.

List 1 pet peeve?

It drives me nuts when people don’t put their shopping carts back where they belong!

What song would you sing at Karaoke night?

This ranks up there as a big fear. But if I were feeling fearless, it would be Linda Ronstadt’s Blue Bayou.

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?

Meryl Streep

Do you collect anything?

I have never been interested in collecting, but I love cookbooks and have quite a few of them, so…

If you could take three items with you to a deserted island, what would they be?

This sounds like I’m not stranded, so I would take my iPad with iBooks loaded, a comfy chair and some very cold Chardonnay.

If you had a warning label, what would your say?

Caution: Keep away from heat.

How many years have you been in education?

This is my 18th year.

How many years have you been in LISD?

I’ve been in LISD 10 years.
