Pumpkin Day is coming! Volunteers Needed!

The Room Moms and I are planning a fun October themed learning center day on Monday, October 31, @8:45-10:30 a.m. Your child should bring a small pumpkin to school on 10/31/16, (no larger than he/she can carry - it will be returned) The children will be rotating to 3-4 different activity stations: Math, Science, Cooking, Language Arts.

We do need a minimum of 4 volunteers and everyone is invited to stop in and visit the party! Volunteers can come Monday, instead of your regularly scheduled day. Two volunteers will help with carving pumpkins, so please dress for mess. Please email me if you are able to volunteer that day and join us for set up and directions at 8:30.

**No kids in costumes at school please – however, we thought it would be festive if all of the kids wore orange & black to school that day, or red for Red Ribbon Week.

Thanks to all of those families who have contributed to our Class Fund to support activities such as Pumpkin Day. Our class is presently at 50% participation with our PTO Membership drive! I am hoping we soar to 100% from our classroom!! It is essential that the PTO Drive attain its goals so we may continue to provide the level of enrichment we offer at Solana Santa Fe.

Kidblog Glitches! I think Kidblog must be overwhelmed. If the website is not working, do not stress, just have your child type the blog post on Google Drive and we will copy and paste it into Kidblog. Next week we will write a blog titled, "If I Were President!" Please help your child by editing the blog post as we will be publishing it for the Memory Books.

Math: We have finished Module 1 and I sent home the End of Module Assessment in the binders today. In Module 2 we take a break from multiplication and division concepts, and we will be concentrating on measuring time and metric measurement using grams, kg, L,and mL. Please see the parent newsletter so you can reinforce these concepts at home.

Thanks for all your support this year! Have a great weekend!

Warmest regards,

Allison Lazerus
