ORLANDO TRIP
LAST PAYMENT DUE! The final payment for the Spring Trip is Friday, February 7. Remember that payments will be applied to outstanding balances first for Marching Band or Concert Band. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Moon.
REHEARSALS START SOON.
All Orlando Trip musicians are required to attend the following rehearsals:
Tuesday, February 4th @ 7:13 AM – 8:00 AM (yes, that says 7:13 AM)
Tuesday, February 18th @ 7:13 AM – 8:00 AM
Tuesday, March 3rd @ 7:13 AM – 8:00 AM
Wednesday, March 10th @ 7:13 AM – 8:00 AM
Students must have all notes and rhythms correct by February 4th. Pass off will be due by March 3rd. If students don’t pass, Mr. Moon has told them they will have a 1-hour detention at the amusement park. All rehearsals are mandatory. If a student has an unexcused absence, that will count as a 1-hour detention time at the park.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR! PRE-LGPE CONCERT 2/11 @ 7:00 PM
As we prepare for this annual evaluation, it is CRITICAL that students attend all rehearsals. During sectionals, we get into some very specific details in the music that we may not be able to teach as effectively during full band class. Be sure to come to our concert on February 11th in the RHS Auditorium to hear what they’ve been working on!
SERVANT LEADER APPLICATIONS
Mr. Moon distributed Leadership Applications last week for the 2020 season. Positions include Drum Major, Section Leader, Librarian, Captain, Ops Manager and Uniform Manager.
Servant leadership is a leadership philosophy in which the main goal of the leader is to serve. This is different from traditional leadership where the leader's main focus is the thriving of their company or organizations.
To be considered for a role, students must have:
GPA of 3.0 or higher
2 letters of recommendation
A resume’
A full list of required events is included in the handout. Please encourage your student to apply! This is a great opportunity to learn new skills while providing guidance to underclassmen. It’s a very gratifying and rewarding experience for all.

FOR GRADUATING SENIORS: SALLY FITZGERALD SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is open to any senior who is a member of PTA in North Fulton. The Sally FitzGerald Scholarship will be awarded to students who have advocated (either for themselves, another, or a cause), show excellent communication skills in the application essay, are involved in their community through extra-curricular activities, and are academically proficient.
The monetary award for this scholarship is provided by voluntary donations from the local units of the NFCPTA, individual members, and private donations. The dollar amount of the scholarship is determined annually based upon all donations received.
Requirements:
You are in the graduating class of 2020 from a high school in North Fulton County with a PTSA in good standing with Georgia PTA and NFC PTA, who is planning on enrolling in a post-secondary course of study (certification program, technical college, or university);
You are a member of your high school PTSA; and
You have been active in your community in extracurricular, service-oriented, and/ or citizenship activities.

BAND BOOSTER UPDATES
M.A.R.C.H
M.A.R.C.H has officially launched! Musicians Acting with Responsibility, Compassion and Hard work is an innovative fundraising effort to ensure we can continue our band programs and grow next school year.
Last Friday, your student received a packet with an overview along with many handy tips and goals. All students are to raise money for an 8-hour workday in the community on Saturday, March 7th. All funds raised are tax deductible.
MARCH 2020 Sales Kit
Students are encouraged to start requesting donations NOW, giving them plenty of time to raise funds. And to help them out, we made a sales kit!

Everyone will have access to an overview of M.A.R.C.H, student goals, a sample sales script, handy tips, photos, newspaper articles, and sample emails and posts you can use for Facebook.
Each student’s target is to raise $400 by March 6. This is an ALL-BAND FUNDRAISER. Please encourage and support your student in any way you can.
Break it down and take it one step a time. Raise $100 by each Friday in February and just like that, you did it!

BAND BANQUET COMMITTEE MEETING
Help us plan this year’s Band Banquet! We’re going to have the first Band Banquet Committee meeting on Wednesday, February 19th at 6:30 p.m. in the Media Center.
