AMCMS Principal's Office
What is going on in the Principal's Office?
My Challenge to You
This week is the perfect week to share with the world the awesomeness of AMCMS and the work that you are doing in your classroom because Wednesday is Love My School Day. Share pictures and examples of the work you and your students do in the classroom each and every day.
Why?
We talk all the time about the narrative around schools in the public. Often, that narrative is not positive because there are those that are wanting to bring public schools down or the press chooses to cover the negative issues instead of the positive issues. We cannot change that if we do not take action. The action that we can take is to share the positive that occurs each day in our classrooms and in our school.
Challenge Accepted!
I challenge you this week, and specifically on Wednesday, to share something that you are proud of that you have done in your classroom this year. If you do not have a twitter account, email it to me and I will share it for you... pictures are valuable! Retweet things that you see on twitter... search by using the #Lovemyschoolday hashtag -- see what others at AMCMS are sharing by looking here (click this link).
When we take a moment to focus on the positive we remember why we do what we do. Why wouldn't want to remember why you do what you do? When you remember the why behind what you do, you are more likely to create more moments and days that are memorable and less moments and days that are forgettable.
Think. Achieve. Succeed.
Jeff

AMCMS SPED Tip of the Week
We sometimes need to deal with difficult behaviors in our classes, and these behaviors an include students whose behavior is escalated and disruptive to others.
Check out this video about some helpful tips for how to de-escalate situations with students. The video was created to address behaviors by students with FASD (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorders), but the tips can be useful for interactions with all of our students and even with adults!
Technology Tip of the Week
Mr. Mann has purchased the School Edition of Edpuzzle for our campus and each one of you have complete access to all that Edpuzzle has to offer. Here is a quick video that demonstrates some of how Edpuzzle can be used. Here are some courses and certifications for all levels of Edpuzzle users! They have a Level 1 course for new teachers, a Flipped certification to teach more about using videos in the classroom, and a few more.
If you already have an account you should have all the school edition features already loaded up. If you don't have an account and you would like to start using it then simply sign up with your school email.
Here is a quick overview of all that the Edpuzzle School Edition has to offer.
