End of Year Field Trip Info

After the Social Studies final exam on the morning of Monday, June 20th, 7th grade will have an end-of-school field trip to Kershaw Park in Canandaigua. This trip will include a ride on the Canandaigua Lady, a picnic lunch, as well as the chance to play games, swim in the lake, or just hang out and relax with their friends and teachers.

Do you live in the City of Canandaigua? While we have made every effort to keep costs low for this field trip, we are cutting it very close. If you live in the City, you can help reduce our expenses. The cost for using the beach area at Kershaw Park is $2 per student ($5 per adult), but city residents can use the beach area for free if they obtain a season pass tag for $1 in advance. If possible, please try to pick up one of these pass tags and be sure that your child has it on the day of the trip.

What should my child pack for the field trip? Sunscreen, Bathing Suit, Towel, Appropriate Shoes, Sports Equipment, Rain gear (Please make sure all items are labeled).

Can students swim in the lake? Yes, lifeguards will be on duty and students can swim.

What will be for lunch? Hot dogs will be provided. If you child is not a hot dog fan they may bring their own bag lunch.

Donations & Volunteers

In the past, we have had many offers for donations. If you would like to donate anything for our picnic (such as the suggested items listed below), please email Katie Michalko (, so we can keep track and prevent duplication.

Suggested Items:

· Chips, pretzels, rolls, condiments, etc.

· Drinks: bottled water, juice boxes (no soda)

· Fruit: apples, bananas, cut up melon, etc.

· Dessert: cookies, brownies, etc.

· Picnic products: plates, napkins, cups, plastic ware (spoons & forks)

While we will be unable to accommodate extra people for the boat ride, we would greatly appreciate a few volunteers to help with cooking and setting up for the picnic (and to join us to enjoy the rest of the day). Please email Katie Michalko if you would like to volunteer.

End-of-Year Slideshow

On the last day of school, Team Cayuga traditionally shares an end-of-7th grade slide show consisting of pictures we have taken throughout the school year. If you have any photos of school-related activities (e.g., school sports, concerts, musical, etc.) that you would like to share, please email them to (I have lots of pictures of mod track and girls mod soccer, but very few of sports that I don't coach).
