April 29, 2023
Dear Families,
We had a great week! We celebrated our End-of-State Assessments spirit week, we had our 3rd grade Roller Skating field trip, we had our monthly Site Council meeting, our monthly PRIDE Assembly over Excellence, and our weekly Late Start! Thank you to all our families who came to our PRIDE Assemblies this year! We had a fantastic turn out and it was wonderful to celebrate our students with you!
We also celebrated Christina Mills (3rd Grade Teacher) this week. She was nominated and selected as our 2023 Elementary Teacher of the Year! Way to Go Mrs. Mills!
Next week we have Teacher & Staff Appreciation and Sprit Week! Thank you for recognizing how hard our teachers & staff work! Please see our flyer below for our daily activities.
We will also have dental visits, our kindergarten field trips to Angel Falls, our second grade field trip to American Royal, our weekly Late Start, our monthly Playground Committee Meeting, and Teacher Professional Development on Friday (no school for students).
Parents/ guardians are now able to fill out our class placement feedback form. We will use this input for student placement decisions for the 23-24 school year: https://forms.gle/DNPzFyNEa1BjqniLA
We are preparing to administer the Spring MYSAEBRS assessment. All 2nd and 3rd grade families are asked to complete this form and either opt in or out. Please click here for more information: https://forms.gle/ghLp23dWoZEpdhvY7
Reminders:
As the weather gets nicer, please be advised we do not have adult supervision on our playgrounds until 8:00 in the morning M-W & F and 9:00 on Late Start Thursdays. Please do not leave students unattended on the K-3 playgrounds before school.
We are still accepting boys and girls pants donations for our nurse's office. If you have gently used clothing, you are interested in donating, please send that in.
We are still looking for community members to serve on the LES Playground Committee! Our next meeting will be in May 4 from 4-5 PM in the library. Anyone interested in participating is welcome!
