Hamilton Parent Committee Information
Parent Council & Committee Information
The objective of our various parent councils is to provide opportunities for parents to actively participate and assist in the parental support of Hamilton. Parents of Hamilton students are welcome to attend any parent council meeting and are welcome to attend the monthly parent council district meetings as well. However, items brought to the attention of the School Site Parent Council can only be voted on by Board members. One of the easiest ways for a parent to become involved is to attend one of Hamilton's or the District's the monthly meetings.
English Learner Advisory Committee
The parents/guardians of students who are classifed as English Language Learners are encouraged to be involved in ELAC, which meets monthly. ELAC disseminates information & offers parent training workshops regarding immigrant needs, English language acquisition, California State Standards and testing, and coordinates with DELAC, the distict's ELAC body.

SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL
Schools that receive categorical funding from the state or federal government are requried to elect a School Site Council (SSC), a decision-making body responsible for developing and recommending to the School Board a "Single Plan for Student Achievement" for that particular school site.
Composed 50% of staff (including the principal, classroom teachers and other school personnel), and 50% non-staff (including parents or other community members selected by parents), the SSC monitors implementation of the Single Plan, and evaluates the results.
The SSC is required to consider recommendations from other school advisory committees such as ELAC on the needs of students and on ways those needs could be met.
Hamilton currently has four council seats up for reelection. If you are interested in running for an open seat, please email Erika Cooper (cooper.erika@pusd.us) a brief introductory statement to be included in the SSC ballot. Voting will take all day on September 23rd , Hamilton's Back to School Night.
Next Meeting: September 29 @ 2:00pm

The PTA goals are:
- build a healthy and nurturing school community;
- cultivate a collaborative environment through effective communication;
- enhance academic and enrichment programs; and
- support classrooms through room parents and a volunteer network.
The PTA serves four primary roles:
- Volunteer coordination

- Fostering communication within the Hamilton community
- Fundraising (to support our mission and goals) PTA will have meetings and fundraisers online until it is safe to go back to school. We are selling uniforms and Hamilton masks as well.
