Dear Parents / Carers,
This week it has definitely been looking a lot like Christmas! We have had a very busy and Christmassy week in school.
First of all a huge well done to the EYFS and KS1 children that performed so well in our Nativity productions. The children (and staff) worked incredibly hard to put together so many songs and some great acting and did a wonderful job of reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you for coming along to watch and for providing costumes and practising words.
We have ended the week on a high with the whole school heading out to the Pantomime in York this morning (oh, yes they did!). The children and staff were all very excited and had a great time joining in with cheering, booing and waving. Thank you to all the staff and especially to Mrs Cameron who meticulously planned the whole trip!
Finally, we end the week with our Christmas Fair. It is lovely to be able to hold this event again after a break of 3 years and I know it will be well received and supported by our school families. Thank you very much to the Friends of Kirk Fenton who have worked incredibly hard to put the fair together to raise much needed funds for the school.
Just a couple of staffing changes to let you know this week. First, Mrs Wolterman will be leaving us next week to start her maternity leave. We wish her all the very best and are looking forward to meeting her new bundle of joy in the new year. Mr Whiteley will be taking over in Year 3 until she returns next year. I am sure you will help him to settle quickly as he works alongside Mrs Bembridge.
In Year 2 Rosen, Mr Carman has sadly left us for personal reasons and Miss Moody has already stepped in there. She will continue to teach the children for the rest of this school year working alongside Mrs Mawson.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Karen Williams
