Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Molin Information

Dear Molin Community,

We are very excited for a new school year! The floors are shiny, classrooms are being set up, and staff is preparing for the arrival of our students and the meet and greet on Tuesday, August 30th from 12-1. Below is important logistical information for the Molin School.

  • The first day of school is Wednesday, August 31st. Students should arrive by 7:40. The school day begins promptly at 7:45. All Molin students go to the blacktop every morning. Staff is on duty at 7:35. Students should not arrive before that time.

  • Dismissal is 2:10 as the Molin students are dismissed a few minutes before the Nock Middle School. Students are walked out by their classroom teachers and if being picked up, cross the Molin entrance crosswalk to the vehicles on Low St.

  • Any families driving students to school will line up on the sidewalk side of Low St. For safety reasons, we are asking families to please stay in their vehicles and not congregate on the blacktop. Molin staff will be outside directing students. All staff will be on duty for the first weeks of school both outside and inside the building to direct students to their entrance and their classrooms.

  • For any changes in a child’s dismissal procedures, including any after-school activity, a note must be sent to the teacher or if it is a last minute change, contact the office by 2:00.

  • Vehicle Pick-Up Procedures: We highly recommend students walk, bike, or take the bus to school if possible. With Molin and Nock being on the same schedule, we have over 800 students being dismissed at once. It is crucial for everyone’s safety that parents/guardians follow the posted rules for pick-up on Low St. You will notice there are arrows along the Low St. sidewalk in front of the building. This is a moving lane. Please pull up all the way to the end of the sidewalk and continue to pull up as cars merge back onto Low St. Cars cannot stop in this line waiting to pull back onto Low St. as it causes a huge back-up. Cars arriving early need to pull all the way up to the end of the sidewalk, not stop in front of the school. Staff will be on sidewalks directing cars to continually move forward.

  • Molin students getting picked up will be on the grass waiting with staff. Families have to pull up for their students to get into the vehicles.

  • Nock cars need to line up along Low St. after the school driveway entrance. Molin cars line up along Low St. directly in front of the building. This is for the safety of our younger students.

  • This is a no-parking area for unattended vehicles.

We know that the return to school may be difficult for some students and we will spend a healthy amount of time building classroom community, implementing mindfulness and movement breaks, checking in on our students’ feelings and providing social-emotional support.

We very much appreciate your support and cooperation. We cannot wait to have our students back in the building!

Warmly,

Tara K Rossi, Molin Principal
