THE GREAT KINDNESS CHALLENGE AT IGEMS
Students at IGEMS will participate in The Great Kindness Challenge the week of February 11-15th. In addition to the special days (see below), students and staff members will be spreading cheer through the school and community by creating a culture of kindness. “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”-Aesop
SAFETY REMINDERS:
Students who are not riding the school bus and instead are dropped off by a family member or friend prior to the start of the school day, should use the Cafeteria Doors in the back of the school, rather than at the main doors in the front of the building. The doors will be open and students are able to wait comfortably with staff supervision in the cafeteria. Thank you for your cooperation!
On Late Start days, IGEMS does not serve breakfast. Please make sure your students eat breakfast at home on Late Start days.
Also on Late Start days, our Back Doors (used for morning drop off) are locked until 9:30 am. If you drop off students at any door, please make sure they can enter the building before you leave. If there are problems, the main entrance by the IGEMS office should be open.
PANTHER PACKS FOOD PROGRAM
Thank you for the terrific start to our new Backpack Food Program called Panther Packs! We appreciate the wonderful donations of money and food items. Our shelves are starting to fill. If you are interested in donating, we are looking for single serve items, such as:
soup, spaghettios, ravioli, spaghetti, mac-n-cheese bowls, rice bowls, noodle packets (just add water), cereal bowls, fruit cups, applesauce cups, pudding cups, jello cups, as well as bags of crackers or chips. Small servings of peanut butter or jelly are also encouraged. If you prefer to let us do the shopping, we estimate $3 per meal or $5 for two meals. A meal consists of an entree, fruit cup, and crackers or chips. Thanks again for helping us get our program started.

THANK YOU
MIDDLE SCHOOL HONORS CHOIR
On Saturday, Jan. 26, 8 IGEMS students joined other talented middle school choir students from our conference for the annual SWAL Honors Choir. These students receive a selection of challenging music and spend just a few days preparing for a performance. They also get to work with other choir teachers from the conference as well as a distinguished guest director. They put on an excellent concert on Saturday afternoon!
