Soccer is an amazing sport that both of us would like to play professional some day. Here is some information we found about soccer.
Soccer Ball
A soccer ball is used to score points in soccer. In other countries it is called a football. The players kick the ball from one end of the field to the other until one team is able to kick it into the goal.
Goal
A goal is where the players are trying to kick the ball. If they do, they get a point. There is also a goalie who stands in front of the goal, trying to keep the ball out.
Field
A soccer field is a grass area where the players can run and kick the ball. Soccer fields are different sizes, but the average size is 100 feet long and 60 feet wide.
Positions
In professional soccer, there are 11 positions. There are three forwards, who try to score the goals, three middles, who can shoot and defend, and four defenders, who try to stop the other team from scoring. There is also the goalie, who tries to keep the ball out of the goal.
Penalties
In soccer, there is a yellow, red, and blue card. A yellow card is a warning, and a red card is when you hurt someone. If you get a red card, the other team gets possession. If you get a blue card, you are thrown out of the game.
How to get There
To play professional soccer, it takes a lot of training and exercise. If you want to be good enough for professional soccer teams to accept you, you have to practice A LOT. Every four years, there are tryouts for professional soccer. You have to be at least 18, and the tryouts are during the world cup.
The World Cup
Every four years, there is a pro soccer tournament that only the international teams can compete in. Different countries from around the world play each other to see who is the best. There have been 19 world cups.

As you can see, soccer can be challenging, and it takes a lot of practice to play professionally. Daniel and I think that this is a great sport and it would be fun to play it as a career.
