Celebrating our Graduates
We kicked off our Senior Week last Friday by issuing students their yearbooks and cap & gowns. That led into yesterday's Senior Class Field Day. It was a great afternoon; the weather was perfect; and students enjoyed connecting with their peers and playing outdoor games.
Tonight is our Baccalaureate ceremony. In-person attendance is for students only, but families and friends can livestream the event at this link: http://livestream.com/accounts/1289376/events/9687801
The week culminates with graduation on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, the event is not open to the public. Remote viewing information will be available later in the week. Details for the graduates and their guests can be accessed via the link below.

The MWSFF is a student film festival dedicated to showcasing the talents and creativity of the region's youth by providing an opportunity for young filmmakers and production teams to explore and create stories through motion pictures. Ahead of the festival, these selected films will also be shown for the community at large to enjoy. Screenings will run from June 1 – 3 at 7pm. Class of 2022 Tailgate at Riverside Park
Mrs. MacKay Memorial Fund
Last year we lost a cherished member of the Forest Avenue Family, Erin MacKay. Mrs. MacKay was a beloved first grade teacher, colleague, and friend. As a school community, we would like to honor her memory by creating a mosaic in the entryway of Forest Avenue School. A local artist, Josh Winer, is a mosaic artist and teacher who specializes in leading group projects from initial brainstorming through final installation and all of the steps in between. His mosaics are original, beautiful handmade works of art created with input from the school community. In planning the mosaic for Forest Avenue School, we will collaborate with Josh as a staff to create a memorial, which both honors Mrs. MacKay and creates a welcoming entrance to Forest Avenue School for all to enjoy.
In order to raise the funds necessary to create this mosaic, our school community will be holding a Virtual Boosterthon beginning the week of May 17th and running until June 4th. The goal is to raise $15,000, the cost of the mosaic project. Any funds beyond that amount will be used to purchase books for the library in Mrs. MacKay’s name. If you would like to make a donation please click on this link. If you would like to learn more about the artist or the process he uses to create these personalized mosaics, please use this link.
