Important announcements and deadlines
Technology: If you have a device that was given to your student last school year and it is currently broken or not operational please drop it off as soon as convenient at North Branch Area Middle School, Door #4 (available Monday-Friday from 6 am - 5 pm). NBAPS technology staff will keep track of returned devices, and will have a device issued to your student at the start of the school year. ATTENTION: If students in current grades K-5 still have a device that was issued last spring please return these devices to Door #4 at the Middle School as soon as possible. These devices need to be returned so staff can accurately inventory and prepare them for the start of school. Students in current grades 6 - 12 will be expected to bring devices charged and ready to go for the start of school.
School supply lists: All school supply lists can be found at the Parent/Student Resources page under NBAPS information and forms. Click here to go directly to the page.
Activities: While awaiting guidance on future seasons, NBAPS will likely be very limited in the number of fans allowed at events, which limits Activities' ability to collect gate and provide concessions. Programs rely on this revenue as a means to reduce cost to students participating in Activities. To allow for proper social distancing on buses, additional buses will be needed for off-campus competition, an additional cost. That said, the Activities Dept. will not be increasing Activities fees beyond last year's approved fee scale. Families facing unexpected financial hardship but who do not qualify for free or reduced lunch, please reach out to the Activities Department at 651-674-1514 information about financial assistance. The fall season is underway, with 7-12 Cross Country, Girls and Boys 9-12 Soccer, and 7-12 Girls Tennis all starting August 17. Registration is now also open for girls and boys 7-8 grade Soccer, which will start the first week of school. Please go to nbskolvikings.com for additional information.
Nurses update: If your student requires medications administered at school, an “Authorization for Administration of Medication” form must be completed each school year. The form can be found on the district website under Departments, Health Services, Resources and Forms. The form must be completed each school year so forms and orders from the 2019-2020 school year need to be updated.Prescription must be brought in by an adult in the original container. Medications are not allowed to be transported on the bus by students. Please reference Policy #516 for further information. No medication will be administered to students until completed and signed forms have been received. For questions, please contact the Health Office for your child’s school.
IMPORTANT deadlines: Families who require transportation this school year are asked to opt-in by completing the form linked here. NBAPS asks that families complete the form by Friday, Aug. 21. Distance Learning Academy is enrolling students through Aug. 21. To enroll now, click here.
