A Note From the Teacher

We have been very busy with research this week! We have also continued our financial literacy unit and they are earning money to spend at Market Day. Our schedule will be a little different next Tuesday and Wednesday due to STAAR testing in 3rd and 4th grades. Our last TEMI (math fluency) test will be on Tuesday, April 28th. We will continue to practice our math strategies to prepare for this test. We will begin learning about 3-D shapes next week. Our class will be working on a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) project to learn about 3-D shapes and the buildings in our community. Please save empty cardboard boxes, containers, and cardboard tubes for us to use in the construction of our community. You can send these in on April 29th as I will not have room to store them before then. A detailed note will be sent home today in the Panther folder about this project. Also, the last two OPTIONAL research projects were sent home today in the homework folder. The animal habitat project is due on May 1st and the Pet Rock project is due on May 15th.
