The Harmon Herald

Student Honor...Brandon Burke
LHS has another National German Scholar! Brandon Burke a sophomore at Harmon scored in the 99th percentile in both level 3 & 4 of the National German Exam Contest. Two weeks ago, after writing introduction letters in German and being interviewed by German College instructors, he was selected as the North Texas AATG scholar and was recommended to receive the scholarship. His letters and recommendations were sent to the National Office and he has been chosen as one of the 40 National Scholars.
Brandon is the 4th National German Scholar from LHS.
Please congratulate Brandon for this awesome achievement!
You know who's awesome?! Terri Domenech is awesome! She was run ragged like the rest of us yesterday (Tuesday), but while I was phoning it in by showing a movie today (Wednesday) in 1st period, Terri was working one-on-one with our toughest kid, trying to get him to complete enough work to pass the 9 weeks!
She has more patience than anyone I know! And she is ALWAYS looking for ways to help kids!
Just wanted to let you know.... :)
I would like to give a very special shout out to Ms. Gallagher. I went down to verify TELPAS writing samples this morning for 9 students. Only 3 of the 9 student folders were “complete” and thus correctly verified. I am only one of several verifiers so I can only imagine how many additional “not completed” folders there are. Shout out to Ms. G. for supporting Laura with TELPAS and tackling this crazy animal!
Enjoy your family, friends, and the great weekend weather!
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and our students!
