Shine Bright with Supt. Rebecca A. Jenkins
Dear District 70 families:
As we continue our mission to empower student growth and achievement through equitable, challenging opportunities that promote excellence, innovation, critical thinking, and respect, I am sharing some exciting news about our summer school program.
In the past, District 70 has been proud to offer a diverse range of summer programs. However, a few years ago the district focused primarily on academic offerings. As we look to the future, we're exploring the possibility of expanding our summer school options again. But we need your input!
While it might seem early to think about summer, this is a testament to the care, time, and attention the District 70 team invests in every decision we make for our community. If we are going to provide exceptional experiences for our students this summer, our planning must begin now. Your insights into the needs of your family and the interests of your child(ren) will be pivotal in this process. Please take a few moments to complete the survey attached regarding summer school.
Thank you in advance for your input!
Shine Bright,
Rebecca

See Something, Say Something!
Have you seen signs up around our D70 buildings that say: See Something, Say Something? This is a national campaign started by the Department of Homeland Security. The "If you see something, say something" campaign raises public awareness of the signs of terrorism and terrorism-related crime and how to report suspicious activity to state and local law enforcement. Safety is a community effort.
Families Learning Together
We have some great Families Learning Together events coming up this fall. Please join us! Thank you to all those parents and caregivers who joined us this week at Adler for the Simply Bee Counseling presentation on Growing a Resilient Mind! If you missed the event, we were able to record the session. It is posted on the D70 website and will be available for the next two weeks. Our next event is on October 10th at Highland Middle School.
