Letter From Your PTA VP of Membership
Hello! I am Perla Romo Knudstrup. My husband and I have 2 boys: Aric is 8 years old in 3rd grade and Marcos is 6 years old in Kindergarten. We are new to Round Rock and to Callison. My husband retired from the military and we moved from DC last summer. We have moved several times, from California to Florida (and many places in between!) and are excited to finally be back in the state. I am originally from Brownsville while my husband grew up in Edinburg.
Why did I join the PTA? I joined because I want to do whatever I can to give back and help do what it takes to make my community better for my kids. It doesn't happen on its own; the success of our society depends on the many contributions of its members.
I used to work full-time in DC and my schedule was exhausting so, I definitely understand that parents cannot always commit. However, if we each just give a little bit, we can make a big difference. Can you only help once or twice a month? Great! Are you only available for a bit on the weekends? Excellent! Are you good with crafts? Wonderful! Do you like taking pictures? Amazing!
Please consider what or how you can do to help. If you cannot commit time, please consider helping us with a monetary or item contribution. Many of our events are free to parents and require us to purchase food or supplies so, a few dollars definitely go a long way.
Thanks and please feel free to reach out to PTA members if you have questions or are interested in helping us out. I look forward to meeting more parents and growing our membership!
Perla Romo Knudstrup

Ms. Lori Kajimura, 2nd grade teacher and PTA Member
How long have you been a teacher, how long at Callison and what grade?
I have been a teacher at Calliosn from the day the doors first opened. This will be our ninth year.
How long have you been a member of the Callison PTA?
I have been a proud member of our PTA all of those nine years
Why do you like being a part of Callison PTA? Callison PTA has always been so supportive of our kids, families and school. What would we do without you. You are our Heart.
What is your favorite PTA sponsored event or activity?
I must say your yearly kick offs have always been my favorite event. Always capturing the excitement of a new year in a fun and positive way.
What advice do you have for other parents about getting involved at Callison?
Become a member and volunteer. A PTA is only as good as it's active members. Come to school and join in on the learning. Be a good role model for your kids to be involved in their community.

School Garden Update: Getting Ready for Spring
Our gardens might look a little bare while they wait for spring, but they are not lifeless! If you watch and listen quietly, you’ll see and hear the birds that are visiting. Some birds will hide inside the evergreen shrubs for shelter. The wax myrtle by the front door is also covered in small blue berries, a favorite food of the mockingbirds.
