Reading Over the Break

Norwood is focused on increasing our on level reading by 10 percentage points. We know strong readers experience success in every aspect of school. We are proud of how Norwood Vikings are taking on the challenge and reading all the time. Practice will help all of our students achieve at higher levels. Over the break from school we encourage families to continue reading in all sorts of fun and exciting ways.

Here are some options over the break:

  • K-2 students have access to RAZZ Kids - A computer program that levels reading for students. Teachers have sent how to access this program and offering rewards for when we return! If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher.
  • Watch movies with your child that are adapted from books and discuss the differences between the two
  • Have older siblings read to younger siblings
  • Start a family tradition of reading a new story together
  • Encourage reading every day
