Good Afternoon TTSD Families,
This week we have continued to navigate the impact of COVID-19 in our district. Many of you have felt these impacts, especially those who have loved ones who are sick and those of you with students currently participating in online instruction.
Since Monday we have made the following adjustments to in-person learning:
Durham Elementary School has transitioned to online instruction. They return in person on Tuesday, January 18th.
Creekside Community High School transitioned to online instruction and will also return in person on Tuesday, January 18th.
Fowler, Hazelbrook, and Twality Middle schools along with Tigard and Tualatin High Schools transitioned to online instruction on Thursday, 1/13. These schools will resume in person on Monday, January 24th.
Classrooms at Bridgeport, Byrom, and Metzger Elementary have transitioned to online instruction. Most of the current classrooms impacted will return to in person on 1/18.

Service Opportunities and Events for MLK Day
City of Tualatin Celebrates MLK day through volunteering
The city of Tualatin shares a couple ways community members are volunteering in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. and his commitment to service.
The City of Tigard is hosting a variety of opportunities for Volunteering "to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. over the January 15-17 federal holiday weekend" If registration is full for these activities remember that we can all help others in our own communities and neighborhoods, picking up garbage, pulling weeds, cleaning gutters, walking a dog or just extending a helping hand.
HandsOn Portland website lists many opportunities for service and learning
“Keep Alive The Dream” is a historical film that documents Black communities in Oregon honoring the legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. In addition to the film, the program will feature live music and a Q&A with community members. Admission is free but tickets need to be reserved in advance. LaRhonda Steele Band is the musical guest. Steele is an award-winning Blues and gospel singer.

Hello from your public library! Did you know that you now have a free student library card? School Board Appreciation Month
TTSD has an annual tradition during school board appreciation month to donate a book in honor of each school board member to a TTSD school library. The books are chosen by the school librarians and this years recipients and books are:
- Call Us What We Carry by Amanda Gorman for Tualatin High School Library, dedicated to School Board Director David Jaimes
- Beautifully Me by Nabela Noor for Deer Creek Elementary Library in honor of School Board Director Tristin Irvin
- Crown: An Ode to the Fresh Cut by Derrick Barnes for Templeton Elementary in honor of School Board Chair Ben Bowman
- Dizzy in Your Eyes by Pat Mora for Hazelbrook Middle School in honor of School Board Director Jill Zurschmeide
- Beautifully Me by Nabela Noor for Metzger Elementary in honor of School Board Vice Chair Marvin Lynn.
COVID-19 GUIDANCE AND QUICK REFERENCE FOR STUDENTS

St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tigard will be hosting two COVID-19 vaccine and booster clinics this month. Please secure your spot by making an appointment online. Some walk-in appointments will also be available. The clinic will be held towards the back of St. Anthony's campus at 9905 SW McKenzie Street, Tigard, OR 97224. NHC’s Tualatin High School School-Based Health Center (SBHC)
is offering no-cost COVID-19 vaccines and boosters for TTSD families, ages 5 & up. The vaccines are free regardless of insurance status.
Tualatin High School SBHC * Clinic access from the North Parking Lot 22300 SW Boones Ferry Rd.
Please make an appointment by calling 503-941-3180 to schedule.
Appointments are strongly recommended, but not required.
Please bring your vaccination card with you. This is for your benefit and home records.

Tigard-Tualatin Virtual Academy Enrollment
Starting 2nd semester (February 7), Tigard-Tualatin Virtual Academy will have spots available for new students to enroll. If interested, please email virtualacademy@ttsd.k12.or.us with your student’s name and grade level. Families will then be contacted for an intake meeting to ensure a smooth transition and that proper supports are put into place to ensure your student’s success in TTVA.

They are available for consultation, student check-in's, or referral to outside services. Contact your school office to be connected to the school Counselor or Family Partnership Advocate.
