Budget Adoption

This coming Tuesday, the Board of Education will adopt the 2022-2023 budget.

Following a presentation by Mr. Press and a Board of Education discussion, the Board of Education will adopt the Budget & Property Tax Report Card for the 2022-23 school year to be voted on by the public on May 17, 2022. The hours for voting are 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM in the Middle School's Gymnasium.

This year’s adopted budget has a tax levy increase of 2.14%. For more information: click here.

We honored the top 25 students in the graduating Class of 2022 on April 27.

The district hosted a celebratory dinner for these students and their families. These top 25 students selected honored educators who have inspired them during their educational careers in grades K-12. Students had the opportunity to thank these educators with speeches that included memorable moments from their years in the district.

In turn, the educators had the opportunity to share their memorable experiences with these graduating seniors.

Family Literacy Night

Family Literacy Night is when a school gives parents and their children a time, a place, and helpful guidelines to experience reading, writing, and other forms of expression to share their ideas. Its purpose is for individual enjoyment and to build a stronger sense of these skills to benefit the family and the school community. I want to commend Ms. Michelle Maron, Mr. Vronski Mesidor, and Mr. Pumo for organizing the event. They plan to hold the next event in the Fall of 2022 to generate excitement early in the school year.

Read Aloud at Cornwell Avenue

This week Jenn Corrado collaborated with Brooke Martins, who offered to teach an interactive read-aloud at Cornwell. Ms. Corrado is always happy to welcome other teachers into her class and believes that learning from colleagues is important. It’s also a way for students to experience literature and content differently from the way she teaches it.

Brooke was outstanding as she led the class in a flawless interactive read-aloud. It is a pleasure to have colleagues share their strengths.
