Note from Mrs. Bland
Hello Paddock Families,
Please know that Paddock is open for regular school hours for the next two weeks. Please call first if a Chromebook needs to be looked at or replaced.
The District Instructional Technology Department is sharing information with parents through their Parent University newsletters. The latest edition shares information on Brain Pop, Parent instructions on connecting to Zoom or Google Meets, and various Troubleshooting tips! Check it out!
Our Socio-Emotional Learning Coordinators shared this info-graphic with 7 Tips and Tricks for Treating Screen Fatique. I thought it had fantastic suggestions for teachers and parents, as we are all spending lots of time in front of a screen these days. With my own kids, I've encouraged them to take stretch breaks and get outside in between classes just to breathe some fresh air. Our dogs Ollie and Maki enjoy those breaks as well. Being a parent right now is not an easy task and you all are doing GREAT! Let us know how we can help, even if it's just to provide a listening ear!
We look forward to returning to in-person instruction on January 5th!
Have a wonderful week!
Warm regards,
Dr. Bland

Tech Issues During Virtual Learning
When encountering a tech issue regarding the district Chromebook at home that can not be resolved, please let your child's teacher know. Here are the options we have to resolve your technology issue.
- The teacher will attempt to help you resolve the issue
- The teacher will let you know if you should complete this form for additional assistance
- We will look into the severity of the issue and determine if a new device or components will be needed. If this is the case, the office will let you know when to come to school to pick-up the new device and return the old device.
At home connectivity results in many of the technology issues we have encountered in the past. This can range from the freezing of screens during a video conference to the inability to join a conference. Please review your at homes connectivity as well as the number of computers that are on your home Wi-Fi at one given time.
Streaming of any kind used the a large amount of bandwidth. More that many other applications opened on your computer. Making sure that there are no other applications open or internet tabs that have video on them open during the school day will help in the speed of the device.
