Homework Free Holidays for the 2022-2023 School Year

South Brunswick continues to be purposeful and intentional in designating “homework free” nights throughout the year. The purpose of homework free nights is to give students time off from preparing homework and projects and studying for tests, as well as offering students an opportunity to explore topics that they are passionate about, spend time with family, and enjoy outside activities. There is tremendous value in engaging in meaningful homework assignments that reinforce concepts and skills taught during the school day. At the same time, there are times when we need to collectively have a break from the responsibilities of homework and enjoy time with family and friends.

“Homework Free" dates to span the 2022-2023 school year:

  • Fall: November 23- November 28, 2022 (Thanksgiving Holiday) - No assignments or long-range projects due or tests given before December 1.

  • Winter: December 23, 2022 – January 2, 2023 (Winter Break) - No assignments or long-range projects due or tests given before January 5.

  • Winter: February 17, 2023 – February 20, 2023 (Presidents Weekend) - No assignments or long-range projects due or tests given before February 23.
