What is 3D Printing?
3D printing is simply a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. 3D printed object is achieved using addictive processes. In an addictive process an object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the entire object is created.
How does 3D Printing work?
It all starts with making a virtual design of the object you want to create. This virtual design is made in CAD (Computer Aided Design) file using 3D modeling program or with the use of a 3D scanner. To prepare a digital file for printing, the 3D modeling software “slices” the final model into hundreds or thousands of horizontal layers. When the sliced file is uploaded in a 3D printer, the object can be created layer by layer. The 3D printer reads every slide or 2D image and creates the object, blending each layer with hardly any visible sign of the layers, with as a result the three dimensional object.
What can 3D Printing do in the future?
It is predicted by some additive manufacturing advocates that this technological development will change the nature of commerce, because end users will be able to do much of their own manufacturing rather than engaging in trade to buy products from other people and corporations. 3D printers capable of outputting in color and multiple materials already exist and will continue to improve to a point where functional products will be able to be output. With effects on energy use, waste reduction, customization, product availability, medicine, art, construction and sciences, 3D printing will change the manufacturing world as we know it.
Samples of Trendy 3D Jewelry Items
These designs are very trendy at the moment because of the geometric design on them. Many designers are creating something along the lines of geometric shapes because of the edgy and funky effects that it adds to the outfits. I really like this design because it reminds me of a beehive. I think they could have used some other colors, so it can be more fun for the spring and summer. But overall, the design is well made and it looks really chic.
This bracelet is a lot bigger than the others and the design is more compact than the others too. This is slightly thicker and bigger in width too, so when it's being wore, the eyes are drawn to this jewelry piece immediately. I really like this one because it can help spice up a boring outfit and help the person be more stylish and unique without even trying when wearing these big statement jewelry.
When I first saw this bangle, it reminded me of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France because of the details of geometric design within the jewelry and the pointy bits are like the top of the tower. Although this reminds me of the Eiffel Tower, I don't really like it because it could have been made bigger, so it's more interesting and the design could have been more thought out because it looks like boring, when you start looking at it for a long time.
