News from the Nest

Week of 2/29-3/3

This week we learned about culture as part of a community and how time and place affect a culture. Next week we will continue reading books about communities and focus on how asking and answering questions about our reading helps us gain information.

We are about half way through the quarter so students should be reading at home so they can be prepared to take AR tests in class.

Next week students will finish drafting each chapter of their informational book. They will choose a text structure to best present the information in each chapter. They will then use a checklist to self-assess their draft and set goals before moving on.

Next week we will find fractional parts of a clock, such as a quarter and half hour, and practice telling time to the nearest minute.

We will take our Unit 3 test on Thursday.

IXL categories to practice:

Time: S.1-S.6, S.10

Any of the fraction categories (W, X, Y)

  • Thursday, 3/3, is the PTO No Cook Night at Mongolian BBQ
