A message from the principal
We had a successful first week!
Our Character Strong word for September is RESPECT. Each day in their morning meetings, students will be learning about the importance of respect in and out of the classroom. The definition of respect that we are using is, "Respect is seeing value in all people & things and treating them with care".
We know that having a strong partnership between school and home is essential for student success, and we are looking forward to working with all of our families this school year! Thank you for all you do to support your child in their education.
Transportation update
As expected, bus rides took longer this first week as our drivers want to make sure students are getting off the bus at the correct location. Additionally, we have 1100 students to dismiss at the end of the day, which takes time. The timing of routes usually settles in by the third week of school. Thank you for your continued patience!
Parent drop off and pick up is going smoothly. As a reminder we ask that parents stay in their vehicles and use the lanes on the perimeter of the parking lot. Parents selected in the lottery for the south lane at dismissal have been notified. Parents using the south lane, please remember to display in your permit in a window on the driver's side of your vehicle.
Remembering 9/11
Sunday, September 11 is the 21st anniversary of 9/11, a day of historic significance for our nation. On September 11, 2001, terrorists attacked the United States and nearly 3,000 American citizens lost their lives. Please take time to reflect about those we lost and those who risked their lives to save others. This day also serves as a reminder for the appreciation for the people who work hard to keep us safe and protect our freedom every day. Thank you.
