Chapman Charger Staff Update
5/4/19
Week #33!
Good Evening Chapman Staff!
District Open House is this Monday 5/6! As we have visitors, I will be giving tours of the building and classrooms. Please prepare your class :)
Molly and admin will be in the building in the AM of Thursday and then I will be out of the building in the PM. Please see email for more details.
We are going to start cleaning/packing the media center. If you have anything stored in the media center, please think about beginning the packing process or marking the items that you are keeping. There are many items in the media center that do not belong. Any personal or grade level teaching materials that are stored in the media center will need to be stored in the classroom throughout the summer. All excess furniture (storage or extra tables) will also need to be put into classrooms over the summer.
If you have not checked out the furniture in Mrs. Petrone's room and are a 2-5 grade teacher, please do so ASAP. Your feedback is appreciated.
The Chapman Student Placement meetings will be on May 7th. Your information was due in the google doc by Friday May 3rd. Subs are already in AESOP and at this point filled :)
Here is the Schedule:
8:45-9:45 Kindergarten
9:50-10:50 First Grade
10:55-11:50 Fourth Grade
Lunch
12:30-1:30 Second Grade
1:35-2:35 Third Grade
Summative Evaluations: A calendar and email was sent this week about summative evaluations. If you need more time with assessments, please see me individually. I realize the F and P window is open till the 24th. It is important that you start assessing students when the window opens. All reading groups should not stop for assessments. If you need assistance with this planning, please see me and I can help. We are all trying to meet our deadlines. I am willing to work with all of you.
We have just over 5 weeks left of the school year. It is a busy time and there is a lot to be done. We need to work as a team and help each other out. We will all have stressful days coming up. Help a team member that you may see struggling with kind and/or supportive words. If you need anything, please ask. The added construction is stressful but exciting at the same time- keep the end game in mind. We are going to have an amazing building to come back to for the 2019-2020 school year.
Our PBIS team was able to purchase and they are in the process of creating a calm-down basket for each classroom. (Keep drinking those ICE drinks) We also were able to purchase the materials to create a sensory hallway. This is very exciting and will be put in place at the beginning of next year.
Please make sure that your accommodation logs are up to date and accurate.
Special Ed and Intervention have Morning Duty this week! Dress warm and pack your smiles! We are the first people that students see at Chapman in the morning!
