Back to School!

Hello from the New Guy!!!

Greetings Parents & Students,

My name is Miller Beaird, and I am excited to be the new principal here at Red Oak HS. I have been an educator for 21 years. I grew up as a "teacher's kid" so the "school business" is in my blood. I have been an elementary principal, middle school principal, and a high school principal. I am married to the love of my life, Brandie, and we have a son named Landon who will be a sophomore in high school this year. I look forward to working with you and building upon the great foundation that we already have here in Red Oak ISD. I am passionate about my job, and I believe that it is one of the most important jobs, behind parenting. I am a firm believer that the school must work collaboratively with the home to help develop productive, successful, and happy citizens. Our focus here at ROHS will be to ensure each student demonstrates the characteristics of the 4 Talons of the Graduate Profile which are: Academically Ready; Seeks Opportunities & Challenges of Learning-G.R.I.T; Fair, Respectful & Well-Rounded; and Leaves a Legacy through Service. All decisions will be made by answering this one question: Is this in the best interest of the students? Our mission is to help each and everyone of our students to SOAR TO NEW HEIGHTS!!! I am excited about this year!!! It is going to be awesome!!!

Miller Beaird, Ed.D.

Freshman Orientation

We will have two Freshmen Orientations on August 10th. One will be at 2:00 pm the other one will be at 6:00 pm. Both of them will be at the PAC (Performance Art Center). Freshmen & their families will need to show POR (Proof of Residency) by bringing two of the following: Driver's License; Utility Bill; or Current Lease/Home Contract and the completed Count Me In registration packet that can be found on Family Access in Skyward.

Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA)

ROHS is very fortunate to have a passionate & supportive PTSA that works tirelessly to help support the work we do here. One of their main goals is to ensure every student that wants to attend college is able to and is not hindered because of financial issues. Every year they award scholarships to deserving ROHS Hawks. They are able to accomplish the amazing things they do through PTSA membership. I want to encourage everyone to join PTSA (even if you are on a Booster Club). Membership is only $10. You can find the membership form on the ROHS PTSA website.

Parking Permits

Students may purchase a parking permit starting on August 10th at Schedule Pick-Up. The cost for the permit is $40. Students must present their current Driver's license; current Insurance card; current Class Schedule; and a completed Parking Permit Form signed by a parent/guardian. Once school begins, Parking Permits are available for purchase before school at 7:30 am - 8:15 am in the front office.

ROHS Attendance Incentive Program

There are several factors that play a critical role in the success of a student. One of those factors is good attendance. In high school it is more important than ever. The rigorous coursework and the pace of classes makes it imperative that all students are at school every day. We want to reward good attendance, so we have developed an Attendance Incentive Program. Students and classes with exemplary attendance will have the opportunity to win prizes (gift certificates) and free dress days. We will communicate the requirements to receive these incentives to all students during the first week of school.

Clubs & Organizations

ROHS has a plethora of clubs and organizations for students to join. We encourage everyone to sign-up and be a part of some group or organization. We have several Career and Technical Education (CTE) organizations; the Hawkettes; National Honor Society (NHS); Student Council; Navy JROTC; Robotics; Student Trainers; Student Representatives on the PTSA and lots, lots more.

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) & Fees

We love our partnership with TSTC! All students who want to be a part of this great partnership must have their fees paid by September 1st. Fees can be paid online through your students’ WebAdvisor page or payment can be taken to the TSTC North Texas Campus located behind the high school.
