BECOME A VOLUNTEER!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: SCIENCE DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM
Attention parents:
Science Demos have resumed this year!
What’s a science demo? A demo is a presentation centered on particular animals or scientific concept. The volunteer is trained in content and any specific handling skills needed for the animals. Demos are scheduled at all levels of instruction. Demos generally last one class period (30-50 minutes) and are presented to no more than 2 classes at a time. Multiple demos may be needed in order to accommodate all students in a grade level.
After you have been trained, our volunteer science coordinator will work with you and staff at Emmott to set up a day and time that works for everyone.
The demo is done in the course of a day at Emmott.
If you would like to present a demo, please check out the link below about the trainings. Please leave any questions or concerns in the comments.
Our goal is to present at least one demo to every grade level. Thank you!
