Meeting Information
We have been holding Google Meet meetings with students each week to check in and give them updates, next week will look a little different.
Next week we have a LOT of important updates to share with you and would love for ALL STUDENTS AND PARENTS to be able to join us. Parents can join with their student or separately.
These meetings will take place on Zoom and can be accessed from a computer, tablet, or cell phone. Students have access to Zoom through their Clever portal on their Chromebooks. Zoom is a program that needs to be downloaded to your device(s) so to prepare for the meeting, I advise that you go ahead and set this up.
We will be having 5 meetings next week to offer multiple opportunities for everyone to be able to join. You and your student only have to attend ONE. Dates and times with links to the meetings were sent in an email. The list of dates and times are here, but please check your email for links to join.
- Monday, May 4 at 1pm
- Tuesday, May 5 at 10am
- Tuesday, May 5 at 7pm
- Wednesday, May 6 at 1pm
- Thursday, May 7 at 10am
Zoom also has a feature that allows you to dial in using your cell phone number. If you would like instructions on how to do this, please send me an email.
If you are unable to attend any of these meetings, we will send out notes and a recording at a later time.
Please let us know if you have any questions and we look forward to "seeing" you all next week!
Message: Grades 6-8
Continue Working
- All students should continue working on Edgenuity unless they have been given alternative assignments by their teachers
- Students who are doing alternative assignments should complete as soon as they can and email them to the appropriate teacher. If these are book/paper assignments, you may take pictures of the pages and email them. They may also be completed in Google Docs and shared.
- Most students should be finishing up their coursework this week. If students aren't finished yet, they have until May 29th to get all work turned in.
Weekly Video Chats
- Our chats look different this week and we would love ALL STUDENTS AND PARENTS to attend this week.
- We are having 5 different meetings this week to help make sure that we have at least one that you can attend.
- Please reference my last email from Friday for dates, times, and instructions on how to login to these meetings.
Google Classroom
- Mrs. Young posts important announcements for students on her Google Classroom so students need to make sure they are checking for those announcements regularly so they don't miss anything.
Field Trip Update
- Unfortunately, we are not going to be able to go on our field trip to the zoo this year. We know everyone was looking forward to it and we hate to cancel it.
- Refund checks were sent out to the addresses listed on your child's PowerSchool information. If you did not receive the refund check, please contact the office of GA at 919-693-3914.
Need Help?
- If students are behind and have not already spoken with their teachers about ways to catch up on alternative assignments, this is the last week to ask. The end of the school year quickly approaching and that also means there is less time to be able to ask us about ways to get caught up. We are all here to help students be successful and want them to be, but we cannot complete the work for them.
- Students who need any help with any subject can reach out to their teachers for help through email or Google Hangout Chat
- Ms. Russell, our wonderful TA, is also available from 9am-5pm to help students with their work. She can also be reached through email or Google Hangout Chat. Her email is russelln1@gcs.k12.nc.us.
PLEASE reach out to us if you have any questions, concerns, or needs. We may not see you all in person right now, but we are still here to help you and your children.
