Daisy Troop 2209
November 2014 Update
Hi Troop 2209 Parents!
Today, we worked on the Girl Scout Law, Respecting Authority. Our host was Kathie Senning--thank you, Kathie!
Highlights of this month's meeting:
Highlights of this month's meeting:
- We paired girls up so that they can get to know one another better
- We discussed what it means to respect authority and our girls gave examples
- Our new girls made their sit upons, a seat they will...sit...upon during meetings and returning girls helped them
- We facilitated a discussion of how our girls want to run their dog wash, an activity they voted on during our first meeting of the year
- The magenta petal was earned for everyone, plus a green petal for our new girls
Our next meeting is Tuesday, December 16th, right after school. Marylou Baily is the host. We will be caroling at Horizon Bay!
We need a cookie volunteer!
Are you organized? Looking for something to do? We're looking for a cookie volunteer. It involves explaining the cookie sales to our troop (quick), ordering cookies (also quick), picking up the cookies (it is local, and pretty easy) and coordinating a booth or two (fun). You will receive lots of support...and love. Please send us a note if you are ready to take on this challenge!
Iron on the Magenta Daisy Petal
Our girls earned the magenta petal for learning about the Girl Scout Law, Respecting Authority. Please reinforce this Law by reading this story at home, Gerri the Geranium: here.
New Girls: Also, iron on the Green Patch!
For new girls, we also went over using resources wisely. We used a recycled table cloth that will be filled with recycled grocery bags to make our sit upons.

The Girl Scout Promise and Law
The Girl Scout Promise
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
The Girl Scout Law
I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.
