Club Connections

Concordia University, Irvine

Hey Guys!

Quick reminders!

1) Be sure to email the potential members from the involvement fair if you have not done that already!

2) Keep in mind that the senate proposals are due to Braden Delannoy for review by Sunday (9.14) by 5pm and that the first senate meeting is Wednesday (9/17).

3) Don't forget that there is a President's Meeting on Monday, September 15th at 4:30pm. If you are unable to attend, you must have one of your officers attend in your place.

4) If you have not set up a 1:1 with your coordinator, be sure to do so ASAP.

In the last newsletter, there was a mistake about which clubs belong to which coordinator; Here is the update.

Aaron: Games Cubed, Live2Free, Every Life Matters, Astronomy, Heritage Garden, Math Club, COMM-unity, League Of Legends.

Ania: ACSCUI, APSA, Beyond Words, Biology, BSU, Fikisha, Global Citizens Club, Nuestra Voz, Sound of Mind Poetry Club.

Brendon: Behavioral Science Club, Delta Sigma Pi, Enactus, ODK, Phi Delta Epsilon, Sports Medicine (Phi Epsilon Kappa), Triathlon, and Ultimate Frisbee Club.

Also, there are fusioners available to you as club presidents, and they will be introduced at the President's Meeting on Monday. See you then!

The Intramurals Team has come up with an opportunity for clubs to advertise/fund raise during the games. For flag football, one organization PER NIGHT can have a set up to sell water, Gatorade, and snacks . It is a first come, first serve basis. There are three available openings for September 19th and September 26th.

**(Details about upcoming seasons are to be determined)

Clubs are required for providing own merchandise, tables, and set-up/tear-down.

If any clubs are interested, ask them to email Brendan McCabe, Ricky Lopez, and/or Celina Stratton so details can be given.

Panera Bread

Request to host a fundraiser event for your school sponsored club at your neighborhood bakery-cafe. Fundraisers at Panera are a great way to combine great food, fun and a good cause – your club! Panera has developed an easy way to help raise funds for your club. Forget door-to-door sales or scrubbing bumpers – this fundraising idea is much simpler – eat dinner.
If you have any more questions or you are interested in signing up, please visit

When it comes to fundraising for your club at local businesses, please avoid asking Chick-fil-A, especially the District and Woodbury locations, and also avoid asking Gina's pizza. They are quite generous to Concordia as a whole and we don't want to overstep our bounds.

Upcoming Events

If you have any major events that you would like featured in the next newsletter, feel free to let me know.

Live2Free has scheduled Liberty in North Korea to come on campus for Monday, November 17th at 6:30pm in the RPC. Three people that escaped from North Korea will be sharing their stories in an interactive, TED Talk-inspired event!

Be there!
