John Locke
Why was he Famous?
John Locke was a famous philosopher at this time. His most notable work was Two Treaties of Government, Locke always described government as a Social Contract between rulers and people. Locke also believed the nature of man was based on logic, reason and tolerance. Locke believed men were all born equal and had rights to life, liberty and property. He believed it was the governments job to protect these rights. Locke's ideas had a big influence on the Founding Father's of the United States.
