LIS Tiger Talk
November 19, 2021
Principal's Message
Tiger Families,
The LIS 5th grade students had the opportunity to attend Camp Kern this week over the course of three days. The weather made a big change for us during our days at camp from 65-degree day, rain, cold and breezy. My family and I love being outdoors, so having the chance to spend time outdoors with LIS Tigers was a fun adventure. It was great seeing the students hiking, climbing, and the 5th grade favorite, GagaBall. As you can also see we take a lot of steps at Camp Kern.
For the last few weeks, our students have being collecting canned goods to donate to the local LIFE food pantry for our annual "Pass It On" food drive. We counted class totals and students hand delivered the items by walking them to the pantry. Thank you to everyone that was able to donate and thank you to the students for delivery.
We have 6th grade concerts soon after we return from Thanksgiving Break. Below, we have provided full details from our music department.
Go Tigers!

Counselors Corner
Mrs. Purdin Virtual Counseling Office
Starting in November, Robin Purdin and school counseling intern Haley Hansberry will be offering a series of small groups called FIT (Families in Transition) that will be available to Loveland Intermediate School students who are facing or have faced transitions in their home lives. Transitions include divorce/separation, or death of an immediate family member. Often, children in these situations believe they are the only ones experiencing the resulting changes. Small groups allow participants to realize they are not alone and that there are other students in the school navigating the very same issues.
FIT groups will be limited to 8-10 members, will meet one time a week for 6-8 weeks, and will be formed based on type of transition.
