Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Year 7 have been very creative this week in Craft Club, pictured below are some of their amazing creations!

Christmas at CTS

Our students in Year 7 have been creating displays in their classrooms and preparing their Christmas hampers for the Food Bank.


Christmas Jumper day has raised an amazing £356.28 for Save the Children.

Nominations:

MFL:


Mrs Sahota would like to say well done to the following Year 7 students Ryan, Aleksandra, Kailyn, Dominik, Joanna, Kirat, Antonio, Ugne, Tyler, Nikola, Efraim and Mia and Year 8 students Arina, Bailey, Cole, Greta, Gretil, Louisa, Lucy, Mary, Nana and Toby for working incredibly hard and achieving great results in their Spanish assessments.


Mrs Gonzalez-Villamil Lean has nominated her Year 10 classes 10BSP1 and 10CSp1 for their effort in resuming the classes in an effective manner after being away for two weeks.

Also nominated are the following pupils for their dedication in tutor time to the proposed Christmas activities (hamper, video card, decoration), Ana L, Ella C, Melissa S, Chae-Thai and Corina T. They have worked really hard to make it happen.


Maths:


Mr Horne has nominated Year 9 students Gabriela and Thomas for their hard work solving equations this week.


Humanities:


Mrs Vaghadia has nominated Year 11 Sociology students Ellie and Klaudia for working super hard in the lessons this week, Year 11 RSCS student Pacey for excellent contribution the lesson and Year 9 (English) students Olivia for her excellent written piece on an imaginative piece, David for his contribution to the lesson and Timotheos for his excellent written piece.


English:


Mrs Brown has nominated her Year 9 English group for their creative writing assessment, in particular Olivia W, Ellie C, Cameron H, Hollie L and Danils P. Also nominated are Year 11 students Carmen, Tamsyn and Mya F for excellent progress in their essay review of Romeo and Juliet.


Music:


Miss Jenkins would like to celebrate all of the musicians who have contributed to our Virtual Christmas Showcase that we have been recording this week. We can’t wait for all the students to see it next week!

Celebration Events

Big picture
We have now been able to celebrate the success of our current Year 10 and 11 students. These awards are given retrospectively for the accomplishments in the previous academic year. We are sure you will join us in congratulating these students for their hard work, dedication and achievements. All photographs from the event will be added to the school website shortly.

  • Please be reminded that Friday 18th December is a staff training day and school will be closed to students.
